The media could not be loaded. The Toprig S40 Motorized Slider (40cm) is a fantastic tool for achieving smooth and professional-looking cinematic shots. The build quality is exceptional, with a robust feel and mostly metal parts. It feels great in the hands and is long enough to provide excellent movement in a shot, yet compact enough to toss into a bag. The package includes only a user manual and a replacement track. The slider features adjustable knobs for panning shots or the option to leave it stationary. The battery compartment houses four buttons and one knob for adjusting speed or setting A and B points for looping. One downside is that the battery is not included, but NP-F-style batteries, commonly used by many camera devices, are compatible, and I had a bunch on hand. The motorized feature adds a new dimension to my shots, with incredibly smooth movement and quiet operation. There are both 3/4 and 1/4 screws for mounting your camera. It would have been a nice addition to include a camera ballhead. The slider also features 3/4 and 1/4 screws at the bottom for mounting on a tripod or light stand, along with rubber-adjustable feet for surface placement. While I haven’t tried the app yet, the built-in functions are sufficient for my needs; however, for timelapse videos, the app might be a better option. As a TikTok/YouTube creator, this slider comes in handy for quick dynamic shots due to its quick setup. I rarely use my longer slider because of the extended setup and breakdown time. What I appreciate the most are the operational buttons on the device, freeing up my phone from the need to use the app.Pros:Simple to set up and use.Operational buttons on the device eliminate the constant need to pull up the app.It is a good size for cinematic movement and travel (fits in my backpack).Cons:Lack of accessories. For first-time users, purchasing an NPF-style battery, a camera ball head, and a camera cable for shutter triggering may be necessary. No carrying case is included. It would be beneficial to have a USB-C input for power to charge the battery while in use; the DC input is less common compared to USB-C.Overall, this is a quality product that I can recommend to content creators, filmmakers, and videographers. Even with the cons I mentioned, it doesn’t take away from the high quality of the product and the smooth, high-quality cinematic footage you can achieve with this slider. My one recommendation would be to offer a combo option that includes a battery, carry case, and camera cables.
