I was looking for a small drill press that I could clamp to a steel beam. A magnetic drill was the obvious solutions, but I didn’t have $800 to spend for this small remodeling project. So I reviewed all of the small drill presses on Amazon — many of which appear to be identical. Unlike the others, however, buyers noted that the base was cast iron (not aluminum) and was well made. So I ordered one.When the product arrived I was pleased to see that it matched the reviews. The base is cast iron, the screw attachments are solid, the central tube is steel and it is well made. My Milwaukee drill fit the ‘collar’ just fine with the included plastic shim. It is fairly light, and I easily clamped it to the steel beam and quickly drilled the holes.In short, it worked perfectly and solved the problem — for a very reasonable price. This would also work well as a small bench-top drill press.Mark
