ULTIMEA 7.1ch Virtual Surround Sound Bar, Soundbar for Smart TV with Subwoofer, OPT/AUX/BT, Aura A40

I like this system very well overall. I connected it to an old Emerson 1080p tv which is a top notch dumb tv. First mistake I made on install I connected the 3.5mm & the optical connection to it from the tv which is a no no. I at first thought there was something wrong with it as the sound was all messed up. Do not do this! Once I disconnected the 3.5mm connection all was well. I will discuss cons first. No HDMI connection, must use optical. It as a very small subwoofer so although bass is adequate you won’t get the deep low bass you would get with a bigger sub. I have Ultimea’s Nova S50 which is better for bass than this unit is. You will have exposed wiring on both front and rear going to the L/R speakers, but black? Why can’t they do an almond or white or anything that would be closer to the walls paint color. I maximized the distance on both front & rear, but didn’t have enough cable due to offset of the window for my front left speaker so it will force me to buy adapter to lengthen the one side to get to wall corner. I did have more then enough for the rears. Overall sound is very decent, but this system is not the choice in my opinion for a living room unless your on a strict budget, or in an apartment where you wouldn’t want much bass to disturb neighbors. I feel the midrange & treble are a touch lacking but they are adjustable with the remote & app. It seems to me the crisp higher tones aren’t very prominent to me. I feel my Nova S50 is better in this aspect also. I believe wattage is way over rated. It seems far less than stated although this has plenty enough volume. Stereo separation is ok, but could be better to me. Even with the spread of all four speakers out wide it isn’t that stand out. Maybe it has a way to bring up the 4 little speakers sur. sound up more to better balance it but I haven’t found anything that works to improve that yet. It is maxed on the remote. Now the pros. It has Bluetooth which is a lifesaver with my very dumb tv. For the first time on my Emerson I was able to pair the Bluetooth to enable me to control sound with other than tv remote, although it does jump about 6 or 7 numbers at a time on it’s 0-100 sound control. I have to turn on soundbar with original remote or top of unit, but then can use one remote for sound and everything else using my Max stick. Remote is very nice, lot of adjustable controls. Very small soundbar itself for taking less space in tight situations. The Bluetooth pairs nicely for the rear speakers to the soundbar. App is super nice for equalizer & firmware updating & installed easily on my S24. Customer support is number 1 with Ultimea. Via email they always respond well & are extremely helpful with any issues you may have. For this reason alone it’s worth the purchase. Ultimea’s customer support is the best! Great value buy for what it has so I highly recommend it for any bedroom or smaller room setup. For the price I feel any of you would be happy with the Aura A40!
